our adoption story

Adoption was God’s idea. We were adopted by God and that’s why we adopt! Stephen and I’s journey to the decision to adopt is long but in turn very awesome. Because the God we serve is awesome. If you want to read the whole. long. story. click here. God has totally opened our eyes and our hearts over the past couple of months to His people. Adoption wasn’t always something that I wanted to do but it is something that we are called to do. It’s a part of our story and we are excited to travel down this road the Lord has put before us. God put it on my heart through a friend asking if we’d ever considered it – after I said “no” she told me I should pray about it. And so the journey begins. God began to move in my heart and in my life and I began a radical life change. I began to see things the way God sees them and see people the way God sees them. I began to realize the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) was for us all. We are all commanded to love all people and to make disciples of all nations. It isn’t a choice – it’s a command. Sure the “calling” part of it is different for everyone and not everyone is called to adopt. But we are. Our hearts are in Africa. We’ve never been there, but God has given us a longing for the people there. For Stephen it started with the water crisis {did you know that 4,500 children will die today from water related diseases?} He’s gotten really involved and interested in water well projects around the globe & wants to be a voice and an advocate for the millions of people around the world that don’t have clean water. For me, it was the kids that had no parents. I would just watch these videos of kids in Africa that were so joyful, so happy, so content yet they had no parents. We can’t adopt all of those kids into our family and give them loving parents – but we can with one. We can adopt a child half a world away that desperately needs a loving christian home. Sure, it’s going to hard. But for us, it’s worth the cost.

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!

let'e be friends

Love your story! Just saw your post on the Gladney yahoo group… Our story is very similar. Adoption had never been on our radar until God placed it there…through a series of events.

Y’all are darling! Can’t wait to follow your journey!
