adoption playlist + the wait

last week at my Beth Moore “Esther” study she gave a pretty powerful ending to her lesson about waiting.  It’s been on my heart for over a week! She said “Never in our wait is God inactive”!  Did you read that?  God is NEVER inactive.  even in our wait.  He’s working even if you can’t see it.  She also says, “our strength will be depleted when we wait on an EVENT. But when we wait on the LORD our strength will be renewed [ Isaiah 40:31]”  did you read that?  how often do we wait for an EVENT? [an adoption, a baby, a promotion, etc]?  I know I am guilty of doing that.  So the encouragement and reminder to WAIT ON THE LORD hit home for me.  She said “the longer we wait, the more we are to renew our strength”!  amen to that!

Habakkuk 2:2-3

And the Lord answered me:

“Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it.
For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
    it will surely come; it will not delay.

on another note….

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!

let'e be friends

  3. Michelle says:

    Thank you for this posting & the encouragement and conviction about “waiting” in my life.

  4. White Flag…. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Aja says:

    I have an adoption playlist too! Mumford & sons “I will wait” is on it too. There is a verse in the Florence and the Machines song that I love, “It’s always darkest before the dawn,” because it reminds me that things are going to be hard before we see the bright side (e.g. the waiting in the adoption process before becoming a family). Phillip Phillips “Home” was our adoption song a while back but now everyone uses it in their videos so it has lost some of its charm for me.

    • Wynne says:

      aja, thank you for your comment. yep that’s why I LOVE that florence and the machines song. yes yes yes! and i love home too. we have the same taste in music my friend 😉

  6. Stephanie says:

    Oh girl, that song “Who you are” first time listening to it today! LOVE it. Thanks for sharing!

    • Wynne says:

      isn’t it amazing? the first time i heard it in church i LOST IT! thought about you and all my other friends adopting right now! on repeat.

  7. ThistleAshD says:

    YES!!!! This spoke so much truth to my heart. I have the hardest time waiting and having faith that what I’m waiting on will really come sometimes. Even more I struggle with being content to wait and be where God has me. I love those verses 🙂

    • Wynne says:

      waiting is SO HARD. it’s so hard. our wait was hard but now i see that it was totally transformative! holding onto gods promises in the wait is so crucial!

  8. You are such an angel for posting this! Especially for those of us whose heartbeat quickens and spirit is calmed by music.

  9. Hannah says:

    Shut the front door! 🙂 I was at church last night and Lisa Comes (associate pastor at church…love her!) spoke on that EXACT scripture in Habakkuk. And motivated me to start keeping a journal of my visions and dreams, writing out prayers for each of them, and scriptures to back them up. That way while I’m waiting, I keep reminding God of his promises that he’s given me and use scripture to back it up…being bold about it. It SO spoke to me that I went out and bought several different journals to start writing in! One journal for my book and the vision I have for my writing/blog/speaking. One journal for our family through adoption/biological kiddos. One for issues I deal with ie: fears, anxiety, panic attacks. It really stirred my spirit. So this post was SO encouraging and confirmation that I’m on the right track!

    • Wynne says:

      hannah that is so cool! i love that – our pastor talked a lot about journaling those things too! in your bible and in journals – to write and record what god has done. and holding on to his promises – his to us for c+a was ish 61:7 DOUBLE PORTION!!! and he fulfilled his promise. keep praying dreaming and recording and holding onto his promises!
