words of wisdom [a book giveaway!]

Happy Monday morning my friends!

I am excited to bring you a BOOK GIVEAWAY this week!  There is a small group of blogger friends I’ve become involved with recently and we thought we’d each giveaway one of our fave books.  and not just any book, but each of us have chosen a book that speaks truth + has had a big influence on us and our faith.  I’ve read about half the books and the other half have been on my list – so I’m excited for a lucky winner to walk away with ALL FIVE BOOKS!  Giveaway ends Friday at midnight.  So once you read about the book I’ll be giving away & enter the giveaway..head over to McCall (7 by Jen Hatmaker), Lindsy (Radical by David Platt), Ashley (Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne), and Tiffany (Dangerous Surrender by Kay Warren)  blogs to enter the giveaways!

The book I’m giving away is….The Circle Maker, by Mark Batterson.

Honestly, I just finished reading this book.  It’s one of those books that takes a while to read, and one of those books that you just simply don’t want to end.  It’s packed with hard truth and testimony of the power of prayer.  I first heard about it from my husband, and was excited to take it off his hands when he was through [which took him a while too] and then this summer the Gibsons were also so encouiraged by this book +  we spoke of it daily.  If you are friends with me in real life, over the past 6+ months I’ve probably refrenced it in a conversation or two.  Yep, I love it that much.  The subtitle of this book is, “praying circles around your biggest dreams & greatest fears”.  It is based of the legend of Honi the circle maker, who drew a circle in the sand and didn’t move until God answered his prayer for rain.  He says repeatedly in the book,

God Honors Bold Prayers because

Bold Prayers Honor God

I really have a lot to share with you about what God has taught me through this book, and I want to take some time later this week to share one or two of those stories.  The main theme for me was to KNOW and grab ahold of Gods promises to me though what He says in his Word.  He is able to do immeasurably more.  He longs to fulfil His promises in our lives.  He wants us to pray and ask boldly and to trust that He is who He says He is & He will do what He says He will do!  We have to lay our requests before God, and wait expectantly for Him to answer.  We have to BELIEVE [Luke 1:45].

There are many dog eared pages in my copy of this book, but as I close it out I want to remember this, “One reason God does miracles is to stretch our faith so we can draw bigger circles so He can do bigger and better miracles”.  I realize I still haven’t written Ashers story on here [I will I will!] but it was nothing short of a miracle.  It stretched our faith and made us see + know maybe for the first time, that NOTHING is impossible with God.  I want to stay humble & stay hungry, as Mark says, as to not get too comfortable.  I want to believe that there are still greater prayer circles to be prayed, and I’m going to get on my knees and pray em.

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!

  12. I first of all enjoy reading Gloriously Ruined! It daily feeds my soul in so many ways and constantly encourages me to make a difference in not just my life but those around me as well. I love the book Irresistible Revolution, my brother-in-law read this book and it changed him and definitely for the better. He and a friend of his after reading this book spent a week homeless, they learned what it was truly like to not have the amenities that we are blessed to have on a daily basis. All they took with them was there bible and the clothes on there back, they spent many nights sleeping under bridges and once they even ate pizza out of a dumpster. Witnessing first hand the affect that this book had on his life was such a blessing to not just me but everyone in our family.

    • Wynne says:

Sheena, thank you so much! I love that about your brother in law! I JUST got a facebook invite for a homeless simulation in our city this summer – what an amazing opportunity to really walk in their shoes for a time to see their real and deep need. thanks for sharing!

  13. What a great giveaway!!! The inner circle sounds like a great book, definitely adding it to my book wish list. I have lots of books that inspire me, but I just finished reading Wild for bookclub this month and it is a really inspiring book to me. She walked the PCT (pacific coast trail) all by herself and it is about her story getting to the point of walking the trail and her journey while walking it. Thanks for the giveaway!

  14. Brianna says:

I would love to read this book! Even if I don’t win, I might have to pick up a copy! 😉

  15. Grace Cho says:

yay for books that rock our lives!!!

  16. Liz says:

I have essentially been on bed rest for the last three and a half weeks due to hyperemesis from our second pregnancy. There have been some dark days here, but I am beginning to believe that God has been using these moments of suffering to break my heart for what breaks His. I have been so inspired and moved by your story, as well as so many other stories that I have found on give1save1. I believe that perhaps what I have believed to be horrible morning sickness may be a gift from God, to open our hearts to international adoption. Thank you ladies for providing some light to my heart during this time of struggle.
