the struggle.

“the struggle is a part of the story”

I’ve had this quote in the back of my head for some time.  I love it, because I love the concept of story.  We all have one, a story, a testimony, something that has brought us from where we were to where we are.  Sometimes the story is happy and joyful, and sometimes that story includes struggle.  But the struggle IS a part of our story.  My struggles have made me into the woman I am today.  I am fairly convinced I would not be the woman I am today without the struggle to bring my 2 kiddos home.  That’s a part of my story.  I believe that our stories and our struggles can help others who are struggling.  people who are in the same boat we once were in.  our words can speak life and truth.  our words can mean more because we know, because we’ve been there.  because we’ve struggled through to the other side.

god is working in my life, and he’s showing me day by day how He can use me and my story.  my struggles.  He’s been able to use me to share parts of my story that are uncomfortable.  To share them with young girls who might find themselves where I once was.  I hope and pray my words bring with them life, truth, and weight.  I hope they aren’t just brushed off.  I hope years of hurt and struggle can be heard through my words + seen in my heart as I pour it out to them.  these sweet precious girls of mine are all grown up and going to college now.  and I wanted to tell them, just one more time.  to trust in you jesus.  to hold onto what they know is right.  to put themselves in a place to be held accountable.  to be a part of the church.  to purse godliness.  to desire healthy god centered relationships.

was it enough?  were my words, and was the struggle that is a part of my story enough to keep them from the pain?  oh Lord, I’ve been faithful to tell it.  even when I didn’t want to.  when it was uncomfortable.  and when instead I wanted to run and hide.

I know you are asking me to share it more.  to help bring people out of the dark and into the light.  make me brave Lord.  let my words bring truth and grace.

let me DECLARE the message you have given me to share.

I learned so many from the Godly women I got to spend time with at the Declare Conference this past weekend, and I walked away so encouraged.  What they taught me was, we all have a message [the message of Christ!], and we have this voice.  We want to USE that voice to SHARE the message.  I hope + pray that this blog is a place you can come and feel encouraged.  I pray it’s a place you can come and know you are NOT alone.  I pray you know that I am praying for YOU, and am walking this journey with you.  We are in this together, sisters.  Share you heart, speak your mind, be a part of this community!  I am so glad you are here.

I was reading the Jesus Storybook Bible to my kids this morning + this is at the end.  it was only appropriate to share it with you.  the STORY!

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!

let'e be friends

We are on the waiting list to bring one or two babies home from Ethiopia. We have been on this adoption journey for more than a year now, and your blog posts and the sharing of your story continue to be an encouragement to me. Thank you! 🙂

This is exactly what God was telling me this morning and yesterday morning in my time with him. I need to bear fruit, and I should be using my story to do that. Thank you so much for confirming that.

  3. […] and I had so much fun road tripping to Dallas for the Declare Conference.  On the way, we even got to stop by Chuy’s in Dallas to meet my friend […]
