Well it’s no secret that I LOVE the amazing community we have here in Midland. It is pretty obvious that we love hanging out with our NKC group. You have heard me talk about them here, here, here, here, here, here and here.
WOW – obsessed much? Well that is debatable- ha, I am just thankful and so grateful to have such amazing friends! Granted, we have other friends that we equally love spending time with but this group just all falls under the same phase of life currently: married without children. Now that is about to change when Alli has Baby G, but at least for now – we are in the same “phase”.
This is the reason I love our friends: Wednesday night we can get together and be so serious and transparent talking and sharing our goals & dreams of the future – then Thursday night we can break it down new years style, having the most fun dance party ever. Then on Friday we can all get together and spend the day together. Friday we headed over to the Zachry’s (girls in their PJs) around 2 and the guys went out to shoot skeet and “play” and the girls spent the day relaxing and watching movies (and googling over Alli’s precious nursery!). The guys come back around 7 with fried chicken for dinner and we stay up (still in our pj’s) playing LCR and Silent Football until 11. Seriously? I have never had a group of married couple friends that feels so at home with each other – we have so much fun together no matter what we are doing (dance party or not!). I speak for Stephen and I when I say we are so blessed!
Part of my Saturday was spent with another one of my favorite friends that I feel so blessed to know – Sommer. You’ve heard me talk about Sommer here, here, here, here& here. We have had a lot of fun times this year & most of all I know that she is always there for me no matter what. It is so nice to have a friend that encourages you spiritually, lifts you up in prayer, will get a pedicure with you, drive to Oklahoma in the snow with you, help you do a garage sale, go to lunch with you every week, and just love love love you. Sommer is one of those JOYFUL people – thanks for being such a great example to me friend!
When all my Baylor/Austin friends speak of coming to visit I get so excited at the thought of them meeting all our friends and experiencing a weekend in Midland & about my Midland friends meeting all my other besties!! My two worlds colliding! I would love it!! So, those of you who want to come — BRING IT ON!
