Anybody Story #10 – Debbe Trippet

Well this is a really fun week for me, because the ANYBODY story God put on my heart to tell was from my mother!  Yep, you read that right.  My sweet mom, my kids “Bunni”.  I don’t know where to start to introduce her, particularly because she introduced me into the world, but I have always loved her passion for scripture and prayer.  She always says, “if you aren’t praying for your child, who is?”  She is an advocate for Stormie Omartians books, mainly the Power of a Praying Parent.  She would give me + my 2 sisters prayer cards each week from as young as I could remember with personalized prayer and scripture.  I still have them all.  She built a legacy for prayer and scripture study and I love watching her passion develop more and more as the years go by.  I love that she said she’s an “empty nester mom”, mainly because her job [none of our jobs] as mothers is ever over but I’ve watched her mentor other young mothers.  I could go on, but I’ll stop here.  I can’t wait for you to read her story!

Anybody can change the world:  I’m just a mom – an empty nester mom

I have a passion for scripture.
I have always loved reading the bible, but always seemed to just skip around in it depending on what bible study I was in at the time.
Then six years ago I committed to reading The Daily Walk Bible with my church – a read the bible in a year book.
Having never read all the way through the bible from start to finish  I was excited to start and wow has it been powerful!
At the end of the second year one of the daily readings encouraged me to keep a “journal of discovery”.
I was encouraged to read through the bible again and write out my observations as I read.
I decided that I would give it a try keeping it very simple.  Just writing notes about what I learned in the daily reading and how it would apply to my life today.
A friend of mine knew I was doing this and asked me to email her my notes everyday.
And this is when God showed up!

Another friend asked me to send her the notes and then another friend and another and – you get the picture!
By the end of the year I had about 30 people on my Daily Walk email list.  By the second year even more.
By the third year I had over 100 people receiving my Daily Walk notes everyday.
I never really knew what gifts or talents I had to further God’s kingdom.  But He did.
He took my simple notes and used them to reach people.
People that were hungry and thirsty for His word and how they could apply it to their life.
My notes were simple, but with simplicity they became profound.
God’s word pierces – it’s powerful – it’s what has the power to change me.  And when I change and become more like Jesus then my world around me is changed, too.
And I know He is changing the lives of those reading my emails.  I can’t tell you how many times someone has let me know that the lesson that day was just what they
needed to hear or what they needed to help deal with a difficult situation.  Scripture can do that.  Personalize scripture – put your name in it and see what happens.

My challenge to YOU is, don’t think that you have nothing to offer.  What is your passion?  When your passion collides with God’s desires for you life – exciting things happen!

A few favorites from the Daily Walk:
   Inaction is Action

If God can use me right where I am, then where am I?  Well, right now I’m at the computer

Whose life is better today because I woke up?

God has nudged me again –this time through the words of a country song – to focus on the Words in Red – what Jesus said.
I want to know Him better.  The Words in Red is my new devotional online.  I want to “fix my thoughts on Jesus”  Hebrews 3:1
If I know Him, maybe I can be more like Him

Thank you to my incredible daughter Wynne for asking me to share today.
My three daughters, Wynne, Rachel and Mary Helen, son in law Stephen and grandchildren Camp and Asher are my greatest blessing and my greatest joy!
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”  3John 1:4

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!

let'e be friends

Loved this from your Mom, Wynne! So true she is and has been since I’ve known you (25+ years) a true example of what it means to see faith put in action, showing anyone who knows her that she lives what she believes in. She leads a life by example rather than talk, and for that, I admire her greatly. Thanks for sharing!
