vibrant faith + the summit.

hey yall 🙂  so…in all my crazy travel, I was blessed enough to be invited to Summit9 in Nashville, put on by the Christian Alliance for Orphans.  There were 2500 people there who all have a heart for the orphan.  crazy huh?  It was super encouraging, information filled, great connections + getting to see friends from all over the country, amazing worship and an all around good time.  I got to spend time with my sister Amanda, who we met on our first ever Visiting Orphans mission trip to Africa 2 years ago.  It’s truly amazing how the people that you serve like that with, become like family.  Just a few days before the summit me, Camp + Asher were in aunt Chloe’s wedding in Austin.  Wynne + Amanda + Chloe = WAC.  we were all on that first trip together and now we are family for life.  so..if you are going on a mission trip soon – get ready and get excited to make some friends you will have for life.  We also got to spend time with Roger + Michael Gibson who are another extension of our africa family.  I was getting really fired up hearing Roger talk about men MANING up for the fatherless + talking about how THE CHURCH is the answer and avenue for orphan care.  My girl Katie Mohr was there too + it’s always a joy to be with her.  Remember my adoption story that included all the Katies?  she’s one of em and she is a treasure in my life!

Probably  defiantly my favorite breakout session was led by my new best friends, Carl and Jill Toth.  It was called vibrant faith.  ya know when you just feel pulled to go to a particular session + you really don’t want to but God somehow leads you there?  yep.  I sat outside the tent, next to the trash [lovely], to have God rock my world through my new friends.  The words and encouragement they gave have been running through my head constantly, and then this morning [reading Jesus Calling] it all came together again.  They talked about having vibrant faith.  and how when we are doing what God has called us to do, the enemy WILL throw flaming darts at us.  they said, “spiritual opposition is always a good sign.  It means you are worthy of the attention of the kingdom of darkness”.  we are at war folks.  The enemy [satan] does not like it when we are doing things in the name of the Lord.  the darts he throws are of discouragement, division, doubt, and life in the flesh.  he [satan] is after my FAITH.  But there is good news.  Ephesians 6:16 says, “in all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the faming darts of the evil one”.  Did you hear that?  in ALL circumstances!  the shield of faith EXTINGUISHES those darts.  that means that faith is the TOOL that quenches the discouragement, division, and doubt.  so that’s why the enemy is after it.

God is doing some things in our lives right now that require radical faith.  He’s stretching us and our faith is growing.  We’re believing promises He’s given, and trying to obey commands he’s given as well.  but folks, it’s not easy.  the enemy doesn’t like it.  and that’s why it’s so important to me in this season [and all seasons] to spend time with the Lord.

As you know, I’ve been doing Jen Hatmakers 7 study with a group of girls and we are on the last fast: stress.  and yall, Gods timing could NOT be more perfect.  We’ve been reading about the sabbath, and how God created the 7th day for rest.  After all the work He’d done creating the world, He rested.  and here’s the exciting thing, He’s given US the sabbath too!  Jen says, “it’s for us from god and from us unto god”.   So part of the fast I chose to do, is follow 7 sacred pauses throughout the day.  I had my first one this morning [Wednesday] and let’s just say that time was legit.  I love the Jesus Calling app by Sarah Young.  love it.  it’s always spot on – and just read what it had to say today….

Spending time alone with Me is essential for your well-being. It is not a luxury or an option; it is a necessity. Therefore, do not feel guilty about taking time to be with Me. Remember that Satan is the accuser of believers. He delights in heaping guilt feelings upon you, especially when you are enjoying My Presence. When you feel Satan’s arrows of accusation, you are probably on the right track. Use your shield of faith to protect yourself from him. Talk with Me about what you are experiencing, and ask Me to show you the way forward. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to Me, and I will come near to you.

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. “For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.”
—Revelation 12:10

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
—Ephesians 6:16

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
—James 4:7–8

I don’t know about you, but that fires me up.  To know that when we draw near to God, he draws near to us.  We can resist the enemy and he will flee from us.  We CAN stop in the middle of a crazy busy loaded down day to spend time with the Lord, and He will bless us.  He will set us back on course.  It’s so hard to do, but friends it’s amazing when we do it.  So this week, why don’t you take a min or two pause in your day and turn your attention back to your father.  submit yourself to him. draw near to him and see what He will do.

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!

let'e be friends
