today is orphan sunday.  a day where christians all over the world come together with one voice and one purpose.

to stand up for the orphan.  

“Defend the cause of the fatherless” Isaiah 1:17

Today we stand for the orphan.  we defend their cause.  we pray for them to feel the love of christ.  we pray for them to have a family.  we thank god for the sons + daughters who are orphans no more.

not everyone is called to adopt, but as Christ followers we are all called to care for the orphan.  

to “visit the orphan in their distress” as James 1:27 says

to see the lonely set in families as Psalm 68:6 says

I’m looking forward to sharing more this “National Adoption Month” on how you and your family can get involved with adoption and orphan care [and there are ways besides adopting!] Until then, watch this video and take a few minutes today with your spouse, or your family, to pray for the 147 million orphans all over the world who simply want to feel Gods fatherly love! 

Praise you Jesus for the way you knit our families together.  For taking our “YES” and blessing us with these two amazing people that we get the privilege of raising up to know and love you.  Today we pray for all the children who are waiting to know this love.
