I truly believe everyone would benefit from some time away from home, unplugged from technology and the demands of daily life. I know it’s a huge privilege that we have this opportunity every summer to spend time at a place that my husbands grandparents built – their legacy. It is NOT LOST ON ME what a gift it is.
Creating memories in the same place year after year is what childhood memories are made of. Our time in Lake City always reminds me that it’s the simplest things that make the biggest impact.
watering the plants // playing mini golf// getting ice cream daily // checking out books at the library // playing at the park// going on walks // sitting on the porch to look at the stars, watch the sun go down, or greet the day with coffee// napping in the hammock // making smores // riding around // enjoying the view // skipping rocks in the river // just BEING together!
Even though I didn’t instagram while we were gone, I still made sure to document the fun and capture all the memories. I created a shared google album on my iphone that I shared with grandparents and aunts, and every day I did a quick post of the daily happenings.
I also kept a note in my phone of some of our favorite memories – so I can always look back and remember. Turns out my mom does this too, and I had no idea! I guess I get my love of memory keeping and systems from her.
If social media isn’t the place you want to keep all your families memories – then I have a few more ideas on my “moms memory keeper” freebie.
I’d love to hear some of your ideas for memory keeping in this season with little kids! I’d always love to connect on instagram.
Hey, I'm Wynne!
Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life. I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.
A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!
