I feel so horrible because in the past week I have had people tell me they actually read my blog – and I have been such a slacker. I have an excuse – Trinity Homecoming! Homecoming at Trinity is sorta a big deal and since this year was the 50th year anniversary, it was a bigger deal! However, I have to start the excuses with the week before homecoming: Amanda and I helped the girls with the “cheer clinic” on Wednesday and Thursday (see details below), Thursday I also helped out at a Trinity Fundraiser: the annual Tower Shoot AND officially became a Baylor BEAR HUNTER as I held down the fort at the MISD college forum. I admit that I was wondering why I got myself into all of these events on the same day but it was all worth it. It reminded me a little bit of my StuFu days and I talked to over 100 students about Baylor – and best of all I got some really great Bear Hunter Gear. (for those of you who don’t know, Bear Hunters are Baylor Alumni that help promote and recruit for Baylor in their communities!) For more info check out http://www.baylor.edu/bearhunters/ So my week was pretty crazy but luckily – we had MONDAY OFF!!! Whew! Friday night was the Trinity game, and early Saturday morning Stephen and I loaded up the Tahoe and headed to Waco. It was a quick trip – we went to the Baylor game Saturday night and spent the rest of the time relaxing at home. On Sunday Stephen loaded up a U-Haul and brought a lot of furniture from storage back to Midland as my mom and I headed to Dallas for a little girls weekend! We had so much fun shopping, eating a fun dinner at PF Changs, spending the night in a hotel and doing some more shopping! I also got a fun surprise: I got to have coffee with Emily, my college roommate, who was in town for a work conference! I also got to stop by my friend Casey’s store in Highland Park – A Little Artsy! I love spending time with my mom and was so thankful to have a little break from reality to spend with her in Dallas!
So Monday was great, Tuesday was busy and Wednesday morning I woke up feeling horrible. My sinuses were going crazy and I just could not get out of bed. I took my first sick day EVER. But Thursday morning I felt much better and it was back to the craziness of Trinity Homecoming. All the cheer practices that lead up to it were worth it because the girls did an amazing job! It all started on Thursday night with the BONFIRE – the girls led the crowd in some cheers as the fire burned – I took some pretty good pics. Also, the week before the girls put on a cheer clinic and taught pre-school/elementary kids a cheer/dance/chant and those kids performed at the bonfire (along with the home game the Friday before, which was fun!). Friday was the Pep Rally and it was pretty much the best pep-rally I’ve ever seen! The girls did a FANTASTIC job with their routine and they did the best skits. Each grade’s football boys performed a dance made up by the cheerleaders in their grade – classic! Friday night was the game and then it was OVER. Sigh of relief….
This weekend we stayed home and worked on the House. This room was one of our projects: The guest room! It’s finally painted! Whew! I will post more pics of the house once I get things a little more settled….I promise!
Because I don’t feel like I can post most (ok ALL) of my pictures, because they are ALL school related – my goal is to take pictures of my other friends in Midland….the ones that are my age! I’m sure you are wondering if I have a life outside of Trinity School…honestly, I don’t have much of one but I’m working on it! We have some great friends in Midland and soon I’ll introduce you to them via pictures!!
Have a great week everyone!!
Hey, I'm Wynne!
Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life. I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.
A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!
YAY! Can’t wait to see the house tomorrow night!!!! 🙂
