This past weekend I headed to Waco for a big Waco weekend – Cotton Palace Pageant. It’s a Waco tradition and this year it was my mom’s turn to be in charge of it all! She has been working SO HARD this year to make it happen and I’m so glad I got to be there to see it all come to fruition. Stephen was in a wedding in Tyler so he didn’t make it to any of the festivities (sad) but it was fun hanging with the sisters. Friday night was the actual pageant, followed by the reception. In between Rachel & I took our grandmother home and on the way home we were cracking up “cruising the Valley” to BSB! Total flashback to the past – high school days. I know you Waco people will get a kick out of that! Saturday night was the dinner dance and it was FUNNY. We got all dressed up, went to Ridgewood for dinner & dancing – sort of like a wedding reception for just adults. Now I know what all of our parents do when we aren’t around….they are crazy dancers! And they know all the words to the recent pop songs. We had a blast & Stephen even surprised me at the end of the night by driving in from the wedding.
I was so glad we were in town Sunday to meet precious Story!!! Story’s mom, Brynn, is one of my best friends in the world and it was such a joy to get to meet such a precious precious girl in person. Brynn’s mom, Sweet T, had a sip & see for her at their casa in Waco. It was fun to catch up with old Baylor friends, see Brynn & her precious family, and hang with Story. Hey, I'm Wynne!
Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life. I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.
A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!
So fun! My mom picked up a copy of the Wacoan recently, so of course I had to flip through all of the girls’ pictures. When reading your post I remembered the party we had at your parents’ house when we were in Cotton Palace. Super fun memories. :)(including the ice cream truck in your parents’ front yard)
