parents.

my parents.
I still can’t believe that my parents came to Africa.  for the first time.  for 4 days!  When we got the word about court, there was no way we were missing it & there apparently was no way they were missing it either.  They were in Colorado for a wedding/vacation and the night we called them they (and some of their friends there!) stayed up until 2 or 3 am working on flights.  They literally left their vacation a day early to fly home, sleep/pack, then get back on a plane to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  Our flights left at the same time but they were in Dallas & we were in Houston so we met up with them in the Frankfurt airport.  With my mom’s “people” – her family is all German so that was fun.  After a McDonalds breakfast we boarded another plane to Sudan then Addis.  I can’t even imagine what was going through their minds.  We’ve been to Ethiopia enough to expect the smells, the scenery, the food, the people.  In line to get our visas I asked if they’d ever been to a third world country – they hadn’t, this was the first.  I am so proud of their bravery to within 30 hours be packed to go to Ethiopia for the first time.  They were champs & I can’t imagine that week without them here.  Alison met up with us in the airport in Addis & off we went!  We so enjoyed breakfast & coffee in the guest house each morning sitting around the table telling family stories.  We also went to Kaldis a time or two, Island Breeze & Yod Abbysenia (the traditional resturant).  We wanted them to really SEE Ethiopia while they were here, and not just see it but fall in love with the people like we have.  That’s why we took them to Korah.  It was a beautiful site to see them loving on those kids.  Taking pictures with them, playing little games, showing them video, asking their names, and just loving BIG on them.  I was so excited they got to meet my son Eyob, and our sponsor girls Tsion & Abenezer.  I also found Rachel’s boy, Windemogon, walking down the street and pulled him into meet them too.  It was a quick time but I know they got to see why we all love this place so much.

And let’s not forget about meeting the babies!!!!  We have everything very well documented thanks to them!  I can’t even imagine the feeling of knowing you are flying around the world to meet for the very first time your FIRST grandchildren.  But “Bunni” and “GP” were amazing.  They loved them so well!  I can’t wait for the fun to begin when we get back home in the States together.

Thank you Mom & Dad for always being there for us, for dropping whatever you are doing anytime to spend time with us, and flying half way around the world to meet your grandkids and be there to support us!  We are forever grateful!  We love you!

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!

let'e be friends

  1. You are so blessed to have such supportive, loving parents. 🙂
