the best life.

on my bi-weekly run last week with my neighbor friends, my friend Alison [unknowingly] gave me one of the best compliments.  She said something along the lines of, “Wynne, do you know that you have like the best life?  You are always going to the greatest places and doing awesome stuff!”.  See, I was telling them about our trip to austin for the Love Does conference.  but her compliment got me thinking.

we go to awesome places + do awesome things simply because we make things happen.  We love the adventure.  We love to spend time with those we love, we love to be encouraged and refreshed, and we would most likely pick going to a conference together in a fun city over a fancy vaca.  It’s just how we roll.

our time together in Austin was just that: awesome.  we had the opportunity to drop off our kids in Waco with my family, and we headed southbound 35 the next day with one of our favorite couple friends of all time, the Gustavsons.  Brynn + I [well, and Ashton] went to college together, had the same major, were in the same sorority, studied abroad together, went on a mission trip together, made an awesome slideshow for rush together//basically, we lived every minute of college life together. and she is one of my nearest and dearest sister friends on the planet.  It didn’t take long after we were all engaged for Stephen + Ashton to hit it off, which is a huge score for us!

getting to sit next to them, process this thing called LOVE with them, eat yummy food with them, and take in all that is Austin with them was a dream.  literally something we’ve talked about for years.  I can’t wait to unpack all that my heart heard at Love Does.  I walked away filled up, encouraged, ready to go out and BE LOVE.  Ready to tell people WHO THEY ARE.  Ready to literally, become love.

Simply hanging with B+A and going to Love Does would have made my heart really happy, but we were doubly blessed to get to spend the night with our Midland besties-turned Austin residents, Shannon + Curtis and introduce them to our Austin friends.  It’s true, if you know me well  at all, you know that Austin, Texas is my happy place.  The place that I pray God would send us back to.  The place I would go if it were totally up to me.  I love the city.  I feel alive in the city.  It feels like HOME to me.  [cue cheesy song]

We have some amazing relationships with friends in Austin, and somehow so many of us gathered around the table on Friday night at our favorite mexican food restaurant of all time, to share a meal.  After all the seat switching, margaritas, girl talk, face painting, hugs, and introductions…I looked around the table, and just took it all in.  There was literally a friend from every season of my life represented.  Childhood friend, junior high/high school friend, college friends, austin friends, and Midland friends all gathered around the table.  Something that only happens at your wedding, was happening.  It was beautiful, life giving, joyful.  I’m so glad Shannon + Curtis were welcomed into the amazingness that is the people of Austin, Texas.

somehow I have no more pictures?  rude.

Yall, it doesn’t even end there.  Saturday we got to spend the morning into the afternoon at some of our other favorite people on the planets house, Catherine + Willie.  They were our first real “couple” friends when we first moved to Austin.  Catherine + I grew up together, and it was just meant to be.  They are the most welcoming people you have ever met.  It is impossible to be in their presence and not feel completely and utterly loved and welcomed in.  Not to mention, snicker nut coffee with lots of creamer is a staple at their house, one that I really look forward to.  The kids got to play, we got to hang out and tell her friends and neighbors about Noonday, and it was the perfect Saturday!

I’m not sure how we are so blessed.  We sure do have some amazing friends, friends that we will forever be connected to.  As I think about these friends who now live near and far, I am thankful that like Alison said, we have an awesome life!  We make things happen,  we go the distance, whatever it takes.

What about you?  Is your life and adventure because you go out and “make it happen?”  If you deeply desire to go out and make things happen, what’s holding you back?  We only have one life!  Let’s make it count!

speaking of….we are making a trip happen this weekend that we’ve been talking about for over a year.  Going to visit Stephens family in Florida!  Doesn’t hurt that my college roomie/bestie Alice Anne and family  AND our Africa bestie Chloe + her hubby all live there 😉  gonna be another epic week.  I’ll be back to “normal” around here next week.  happy weekend!

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!
