#practicalorphancare

hey friends!  just wanted to pop in to tell you to head over to my friend Charlie’s blog today for a new series she’s started called Practical Orphan Care! She says this,

“This summer I won’t be going back to China. I feel like China has become a huge part of who I am and I am super sad that I won’t be able to return to this country that I’ve grown to love so much. So, instead of sulking over what I will miss, I am going to turn my focus into what I can be doing while I am at home.”

I know this is something that is near and dear to so many of your hearts!

I’m first up for this series – talking about what James 1:27 means to me…

I was so thrilled when Charlie asked me to share a little bit of my heart on orphan care on her blog! It’s so funny, when I think about, that little old me would even have anything to say about this subject. I grew up most of my life totally self consumed with me, me, me [I mean, I still am most days] but the past couple of years the Lord really started to open my eyes to the bigger world and picture and show me some of His precious children that He asks us to care for.

James 1:27 says, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
That was a verse that I don’t think I heard taught in church growing up, or if I did I just sorta brushed it off like it wasn’t for me. My eyes were opened in 2011 when I went on back to back mission trips to third world countries.

Hey, I'm Wynne!

Hi, friend! First, I truly am so giddy that you are here. I want you to know I believe in you and all the ways you are growing towards living a more intentional life.  I genuinely hope you are encouraged from our time together here.

A little about me, I’m a type 7 on the enneagram, a total extrovert + people lover, entrepreneur, connector, storyteller, people gatherer, and passionate wife, mama + friend. I feel most alive when I’m exploring new places and surrounded by people I love. Give me a day in the outdoors disconnected from wifi, and I am a happy girl. I run on oat milk lattes, Jesus, gratitude journaling and kitchen dance parties with my four kids.
Welcome, come on in!

let'e be friends
