Laundry hacks for clean living mamas

thieves laundry caddy collection

I want to share another clean mama hack with you! Y’all know that keeping clean, non-toxic products in my home is a priority. Once I started learning all the terrible ingredients that were found in traditional cleaning products, I knew I needed a change. Think about this… when you use store-bought laundry detergents to clean your laundry, you are exposed to it 24/7 through your respiratory system and skin which can strain on your body and your health.

Thankfully for me, Young Living makes it super easy and is my one stop shop for all things cleaning.

I know many of you are under the assumption that using non-toxic products is too costly, so let me break down some of my laundry hacks for you!

We are going to double the Thieves Laundry Soap to make 128 loads of chemical-free goodness. As a Young Living customer, you pay $29.50 for one bottle of laundry soap that gives you 64 loads. ($0.50 per load!) This is without doubling it. By using this hack you get 128 loads! ($0.25 per load!)

Thieves Landry Soap

Directions

1- Split one bottle of your Thieves Laundry Soap into 2 empty pump bottles (I get mine here)

2- Add 2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner to each bottle

3- Fill the rest with water!

4- Optional: Add 15-20 drops of your favorite oil! I love to add Thieves, purification, or lemon.

Do 2-4 pumps of detergent per load!

Scent Booster

This is optional, but sometimes you just need a little extra boost to your laundry! You can customize the scents.

Directions

1- Get a glass jar with a lid to keep next to your detergent

2- Combine 1.5 cups of epsom salt, 1/2 cup of baking soda

3 – Add 20-30 drops of your favorite essential oils …I love thieves, citrus fresh, bergamot, Christmas spirit, lemon….

Sprinkle in a shake or two on top of your clothes!

Dryer Balls

The last hack with my clean laundry routine is ditching the dryer sheets (please google how harmful these are!) for wool dryer balls. Unlike single-use dryer sheets, a set of wool balls can be used over and over again to reduce drying time and static cling.

Directions

Put 2-3 dryer balls in each load with a few drops of your choice oil on each!

Some of my favorite scents are: lavender, purification, lemon, thieves, gentle baby, and the new lushious lemon oil!

How fun and easy is that?!?! These are some of the first products I would encourage you to “ditch and switch” when you are ready to live a more non toxic lifestyle!
